Transferring iTunes

My little sister's laptop died (may it rest in peace) and she got a new one for Christmas. How can she transfer her iTunes to her new computer?

Are they on the iPod?

She should just be able to register the iPod to iTunes on the new laptop and back them up again.

Anyone else? Or are their DRM issues here??

All of the songs were purchased using iTunes and are on the iPod.

What is DRM?

Get CopyPod (http://www.copypod.net) it's 20 bucks and you can backup your ipod on another compter and it puts them back into itunes. Works like a charm. If they were all purchased from itunes you can log into your account and re-download them onto another pc.

If the laptop died then iTunes and the songs are gone. But they should be on your iPod. That being the case try this. http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:...ient=firefox-a

That's crazy! They were purchased using iTunes...they should belong to her account, not her computer....

I thought the newer versions of iTunes addressed that... If you buy it, you can just re-download it..

Digital Rights Management.

I know you can backup the songs off your iPod if your laptop fails I did it a couple of years ago but those brain cells are long gone now!

Again. If it's on the iPod then use one of the programs in the link and upload the songs back to the computer. It's easy. (so i've been told) But here's a lesson for all you iTunes users. Back up your songs to DVD and this will not be a problem in the future.

Thanks.

We tried iPodRip, but couldn't get it to work. :dunno:
