in 6k miles, there's no way you should have had to replace 2 trannys, you must have been doing something wrong |
well maybe you should check out the class action against BMW, the internal bulletins and the thread on M5board. 54 people out of 120 last time I checked had similar issues. There is also an internal bulletin from BMW stating that they know of problems with SMG. It was also THEIR's being BMW choice to replace the tranny. So before you start shooting your mouth off, check your facts. BTW, there is also a silent recall on the clutch, throwout bearing and flywheel too.

guess what 54 people out of 3300+ M5 for 2006 in the US is absolutely nothing, second of all, first year car, what do you expect, of course there will be problems, that's what warranty is for. you think you won't have any problems with the 335? hah dream on. was it a lemon? i doubt it. was it a quick way for someone to get out of a car? of course. laws made to protect consumers turns some states into lemon cars way too easily, without actually knowing how the car was driven. don't even start with m5board and shady tree Gustav.

so 36 days out 5 months in the shop for not being able to go into reverse or first is NOT a problem. Good. You can have it... nice to get into a car and not know if you can drive it or not. BTW It's statistical sampling but of course you don't understand that. 6 out of the 12 cars from the same dealer I bought it from have been bought back. So I guess you statistical and quantitative skills far surpasses all of us..

J - Nice beater, dude! I see the Missus still has her S4 Avant. (Of all your cars, I really like that one best, believe it or not.) The color/the model/the stealth factor/etc...everything is just right. I should have held onto mine. It was a fun car, if not just a bit on the tight side in the sedan flavor, that is. Looking at a nice RS4 for the Missus yet? :)
Regarding the M5, it seems to be one of BMW's rare misses. Sorry to hear about your bad luck with it. It's rare when BMW does quality testing at the customer level. Take care - Mike |

so what would you have suggested josh do? keep the p.o.s and continue to deal with parts of the car failing? never knowing what might fail next? I don't understand your motivation here, what's with the emotional attachment to M5's? he got a lemon, big deal.... I doubt BMW will shut down because of it. |
Man. M5 was such a hot item. You couldn't get one in Dallas for the
first year. I never heard the guys gripe who had one, but each car has its on quirks. Glad you got out of it San. |
you know what's funny,
while i'm searching for an oil leak on the site, in one of the threads i'm reading, here's a reply of yours from 2005 i quote: 2000 was one of the first ones...I'd stay away from them as I lemon lawed mine... faulty divertor valves, first set of K03s had some oil flow problems.. etc.. the replacement set was much better. lots of quirks.. if you do have to go with the 2000.. get something with higher mileage... 25-30K mean it hasn't been driven... and you know what happens to garage queen motors... they leak, they break... etc.. end quote regarding audi s4 now what did i say previously about a quick way out of a car? about easy lemon laws? ya ok you had 2 lemons, and i'm a priest  |
