Insurance Question: Liberty Mutual vs Progressive
Just for fun I got a quote from the agent who writes my motorcycle insurance...for what appears to be the identical type of coverage 50/100/50, same deduction levels, etc, Progressive will cover us for about $700 less annually..we've had Liberty Mutual for years...am hesitant to switch, but jeez, that's significant. Makes me want to call Geico...
Any Progressive customers with stories to tell? TIA |
Ameriprise through American Express all the way dude. Way, way cheaper.

I've had Progressive for about 2 years now. I really can't comment however as I have (knock on wood) never had to do anything but pay the premiums.
I called Geico for a quote also. The wouldn't give me the same coverage (maximums) as Progressive. The 50/100/50 seems pretty basic though. |
I had an uninsured hit me a few years back progressive shelled out the 5k without batting an eye the only arguement I had was they wanted it to go to a different shop for the repairs but I held my ground and they accepted who I wanted to repair the car no arguements about new or used parts or price of parts all in all a good transaction over a bad situation

Progressive is among the best IMO. A friend got in an accident on the way to work, they came by his office, gave him a check for estimated damages before lunchtime. The shop where he took his car came up with a higher price, they went to the shop and gave them an additional check for the difference. They didn't tell him what shop to/not go to.

Geico ????
I use GEICO but have never had to make a claim for any reason. I basically looked for the insuracne company that would charge me the least premium per 6 months. Does anyone have negative or positive experience with them?
My insurance contract is up soon, so maybe I will switch.... |
I got hit by someone with Gieco and no problems at all.

I've had good experiences with Mercury - house and car insurance - major discounts. Auto insurance: CA, 2 drivers, no accidents or points on license, 2 cars - $590/6 months full coverage. This is good..right??? I have not shopped for insurance for 10 years so I don't know - but works for me.

wow!
NBX
For 2 cars that is great!! The one thing you want to make sure of (when comparing insurance rates) is that your deductibles are similar. For example, many insurance companies set your bodily injury liability to 100,000, however, given the nature of my work, I would highly recommend 500K or a million for both bodily injury and unisured motorist bodily injury. This is a good way to protect yourself IMO Just my 2 cents |
With Ameriprise, through Costco. I gOt my premiums dropped in HALF over Farmers and Allstate!
