Gas Prices

I just saw gas at $1.96 :wow: by my house. I was just curious how gas prices were dropping around the country.

GUINNESS 01-26-2007 11:00 AM

$1.99 for regular around the Springdale AR area, about 2.04ish in Bentonville. In Tulsa, regular was down to 1.84. Add $0.20 to those for premium.

the head 01-26-2007 11:03 AM

ranging from 1.81 to 1.85 for regular depending on what side of town you are on

Prices have dropped about 10% in Calgary in the last few weeks. We are paying around $0.76CAD/litre for regular which is about $3.50USD/gallon. That should make you feel better yeowzer.

About the equivalent of $6.50 a gallon here in Portugal. And pretty similar-to-more-expensive everywhere else in Europe.

So U.S. friends, pleeease, no whining and bitching about your gas prices until you guys start paying at least 6 bucks a gallon, please. We live with gas prices triple that of U.S. prices, and nobody's died around here because of it. We just have cars that consume half the fuel and we're generally a hell of a lot more conscious on how we use the fuel we pay so dearly for. Maybe if gas prices were $6 a gallon in the U.S., Americans would be twice as conscious about fuel economy and there wouldn't actually be such a desperate need to own and control the middle east, "free" oil countries like Irak and nurture so much arab hatred toward the U.S.

When will people all over get the fact that the cheaper we can buy gas, the more we'll waste, thus more we'll be hooked and dependant on bloody oil......

Oh puhlese.... no need to get up on a soapbox. This is just watercooler talk, no different than asking "how's the weather in your part of the world?"

Regular dipped to $1.88 here briefly, but now it's back between $1.93 and $2.06. I actually got 91 octane at $1.98 the other day. First time below $2 in a while. That didn't last long, though. Cheapest 93 is at $2.05 now and heading up.

What's wrong with discussing weather? I have weather.com bookmarked on my browser. Today its nice. Partly Cloudy and about 50F. It's gonna get cold again, and then there's a slight chance of mad panic tomorrow (read: snow showers).

noncom23 01-27-2007 04:27 PM

Yep. About 50 degrees and sprinkling here.
