New 35mm slide scan sample "of ME" :)
 

We'll, I just got this new scanner dialed in for 35mm slides. I have a LOT of old family photos that I need to digitize. For whatever reason, my father always developed slides. The main reason I got this printer is due to it's ability to scan at high resolution, and the fact that it has a negative strip auto feeder and slide scanning capability.

This sample slide is of me and my first girlfriend, and my first car :D . I'm not sure how old I was, maybe 5 or 6 :dunno: . I was living in FLA at the time. It was scanned at 300dpi at a 4"x6" size (I just resized to 640x417). I think you will agree that this thing really does a nice job.

Cute first girlfriend SG. ;) and nice ride to take your date. The more I see your scans the more I am getting inclined to upgrade my scanner. You look younger than 5 or 6, maybe 3.

I guess that would make the slide 40 years old then :wow: This scanner does rock. Let me know if you want me to post the bigger size before I shrunk it. That way you can see more detail

Scanning old family photos can be a lot of fun. I am finding pictures that I have never seen before for sure. These pictures were quite a surprise when I found them. They are pictures of Queen Elizabeth. The pictures had to be taken ~ 40-45 years ago. The location was Grand Turk in the Turk islands. My father used to work there. I have no idea what the occasion was, but obviously he got pretty close to take the pics.

UPDATE: I have now scanned/saved like 265 family photos thus far, and I must say that I am thoroughly impressed with this scanner. In addition, I just received the $20.00 MIR from Epson already. Net price delivered after rebate was $113.00. The ease of use and resolution quality is amazing. One of the coolest features is the "color restoration" option. It does an amazing job of making pictures look new.

Here is another example. This is a picture that is approx. 65 years old.

Super G-Spot: nice job with the pics. The first one - with you jumping outta da plane is SICK. That is NOT one of things I want to do before I off this mortal coil. But, I bet you can't wait to get back up to 3500 feet, eh? And the other stuff is cool, too. I liked the pics of Her Majesty and the really old stuff of Junior Mint Gregg probably reminded a lot of us of how it used to be.

Very impressed with the quality of scan on a 65 yr old pic. :thumbup: The scanner is a keeper for sure.
