Susan G Komen Ultimate Drive for the Cure

I know some of you participated last year in this great cause. I just wanted to pass along the link for the 2007 routes. Some registrations may already be opening or will be open soon for you east coasters. Please find your area on the map and click on the nearest dealer to find out when the Ultimate Drive will be in your area and when registration opens.

Maybe some can get more X5/X3World representation there this year or something.

Thanks for posting this! I set a reminder so I can register nice and early!

OK, this is going to seem like a really, really stupid question, but here it goes. How does this actually work? I mean, do you just register, show up and drive a car? It does not give a lot of info on the site other than for every mile you drive BMW will donate $1. I mean heck, I'll drive the thing for a year if that is the case!

Be gentle, please. I warned you that it was a dumb question, and it seems like a really great cause!

Be sure to schedule yourself in so you can be assured of a drive, but yes, that's about it. It's a test drive event with anywhere from 8-14 cars ranging from 3-series to 7-series and just about everything in between (no M cars, that I am aware of). No money out of pocket required unless you want to buy some of the SGK goodies for sale at the event (hats, sweaters, etc.). My dealership, Bobby Rahal in Pittsburgh, even does a very nice sit-down luncheon. It's a first class event.

Pretty much. You drive a pre-determined course that usually resembles the test drive route of your local dealership. Then I think you can sign their "signature car" since you participated.

Thanks for the info, already signed up to get notified when the event registration opens in my area.

Thanks. FYI for those in the MD/VA area, the events take place in early-mid April.

Thanks for the reminder!! My mother passed away from breast cancer when I was 19. I always go to these events. The breast cancer foundation is #1 on my list for all of my philanthropic activities

But SG, you test drive BMWs on a regular basis already! You're probably going to test drive a handful at Sunfest.............
