could it be a kit-car?

I thought that, for the reasons I listed above, but what stopped me were the chrome spears from the headlights, with turn signal lenses in the front of them. They fit the fenders. If it is a kit car, the fender profile must be made to match the chrome.

It's a Playboy, built between 1947 and 1951, in Buffalo, NY. :)
