I am sooooo there and have been waiting for weeks for this flick!

Who else is going?...An epic like this must be seen on the big screen for the full effect!

noncom23 03-08-2007 11:34 AM

Yeah, I gotta see this too. Looks more extreme than Gladiator.

dr.jay 03-08-2007 12:16 PM

Sounds like a fun place to work. Any openings? :D

the head 03-08-2007 04:16 PM

I think I am going to hit it with the girl on a late sunday show...definately very excited about this movie!

FrankX5 03-08-2007 05:08 PM

Hell yeah, this movie is gonna be good. They said it's the next step in film making.

ravenheart 03-08-2007 05:15 PM

Been waiting for this one - don't know if it will be historically accurate, but hey - bound to be fun either way:)

jwilburn 03-08-2007 05:20 PM

Oh I am there tomorrow. Ripped guys running around half naked. Oh yeah so there.

Oh yeah and the movie looks good too. :)

Fr0zty 03-08-2007 05:28 PM

I'm going to see it on imax at midnight tonight =)

Roc3b 03-09-2007 11:07 AM

I am interested on how the critics are going to judge it. There was a special on the Histor channel last night for a couple of hours. I forgot all about this stuff in western civ the special was very detailed and informative.

Lets not forget that this is adapted from a graphic novel so some things like the body armor the Spartans wore is dropped in favor of ABs

in any case,

I will have a large popcorn, Mr Pibb, and gummi bears at hand, locked n loaded and ready to roll!

Sure do.

GUINNESS 03-09-2007 05:48 PM

I'm being taken on a date tonight :D First some sushi from Wasabi in Fayetteville, then 300 WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo Cannot wait to see this movie, but not as much as I want to see Transformers.

Has anyone ever played God Of War on PS2?? FYI, GOW2 comes out next tuesday.... anyway, rumor has it there WILL be a movie version starting Kratos. I think 300 gives an idea of what a God Of War movie can be like :)

drex 03-10-2007 09:25 AM

lol

why watch the movie?

let's see.... based on a story of Persia (who? who?) invading sparta (democracy?) when?

how quaint.

so sad... how.... today... the... real... battle.... continues........ and..... we..... get...... more...... excited....... about...... a...... stooopid...... movie..............????????????

hmmmmmmmmmm.....

Thunder22 03-10-2007 09:54 AM

I'm having flashbacks to Alexander.

I'll take a pass on this one.

X5Jay 03-10-2007 10:28 AM

Not my type of movie at all, but for some reason I'm intrigued. I'll wait to hear your reviews though...

statdoc 03-10-2007 10:30 AM

I want to see it, but can't for a week. Working all weekend, then leaving Monday for a week's vacation with the family.

Roc3b 03-11-2007 05:33 PM

We all know that we are looking for abit of excapism here, I want the troops home as well.

JV 03-11-2007 07:03 PM

I thought it was excellent. It was set up as a rallying tale told to troops before going into battle and the visuals and the style of the movie really appealed to me.

Being a quarter Greek and all, I'm glad this kind of story can be told now with the advances in filmmaking recently and it won't look like something out of the '70's. Oh, and the actress who plays Gorgo, Lena Headey, is fine as a muh fucka!

ravenheart 03-12-2007 07:50 AM

What an amazing movie :) Absolutely loved it - was a little abstract but still very tastefully handled from a historic point of view. Saw it with my wife - she did find it a bit too graphical in places, so beware - if you thought Kill Bill was too much, dont watch this one!

To me it reminded me of how movies once were - it felt anything but mainstream anno 2007 :) Probably sounds strange, but that is the biggest compliment in my book to a movie. No 'Meet the fockers' in this one.

Could rave on - but no ... Go watch it! :)

Technomage 03-12-2007 08:17 AM

you guys see it in imax, cause im planning on seeing it in imax.

dr.jay 03-12-2007 08:45 AM

I saw it in Imax, What an amazing movie, I cant wait for the dvd. I want to see all of the extra stuff they put on the disc!!!

Roc3b 03-12-2007 09:49 AM

I am going to wander over to the IMAX and catch this over lunch tomorrow.

AzNMpower32 03-12-2007 05:21 PM

Ok, looks like I'll go see it on Fri evening or so.

I saw it over the weekend on Imax - and I actually liked it even though it's not my type of flick. Ravenheart's description of "...anything but mainstream anno 2007..." is right on - I really felt like a kid again watching a cool movie. Tons and tons of blood, but it looked very computer-generated which took some of the gruesomeness out of it, IMO....

AzNMpower32 03-19-2007 09:27 PM

I saw it last Fri night and thought it was pretty decent. I couldn't find anything terribly wrong with it, and the blood/gore was plenty but at the same time, not terribly overdone like some movies.
