View to a Kill
I saw this and it was disturbing. http://www.wired.com/wired/archive/15.03/viewlion.html

yeah, I saw this on one of the talk shows (I think it was Oprah). It was quite disturbing seeing 30 lions pounce on this huge elephant. Apparently the elephant had become separated from the herd, and maybe those lights had something to do with it. What sucks is that those people are going to profit from that elephant's death that they probably caused; it was by far one of the more graphic images I've seen. I always thought that nature filmmakers had a duty not to interfere with nature, but apparently that goes out the window for good footage and profit.

infrared light cannot affect animals vision the filmakers knew how to play the odds they had no causation in the attack...quite an interesting piece of footage.

National Geo and Discovery HD have these kinds of
shows regularly... I think it's standard life on the African plains. In these days of yogurt in a cup, fish "sticks", MickeyDs etc., we tend to forget that most of the land area and the oceans are nothing but a constand daily struggle of getting something to eat and avoiding being eaten. |
