Imagine my shock to read such a thing.... :whistle:

So, how was it this came to light again?

Oh yeah - a routine, and I might add, public audit.

Sounds like the system, while abused, has engaged its checks and balances. I won't say this is a non-story, 'cause it's not, but it ain't no Tea Pot Dome either.

what are YOU afraid of?

I'm affraid that as an active participant in many protests against government policy, I will be considered a "terrorist" and will be monitored. Actually, as I am nobody significat, I doubt that will happen. But if I was someone who was a leader in the anti-war movement, or was someone who helped organize protests, I would surely be affraid. I don't doubt for one second that this power is being abused the same was it was during COINTELPRO during the 1960s.

Tell that to that poor european guy who they beat the shit out of and kept in a cell for half a year, and then released him saying nothing and giving him no compensasion for the crap they pulled. He wasn't anyone important, sux huh?

Yes it does.

Our government considered groups like the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (Martin Luther King Jr's organization) and the African National Congress (Nelson Mandella's organization) to be terrorist organizations. Yet they never considered groups like Irgun, CORU and Alpha 66 to be terrorist organizations.

They can call whomever they want a terrorist, and by these new laws they can arrest you, and detain you for as long as they want without ever telling anyone that you are being held, and without ever charging you with a crime or giving you an opportunity to prove your innocence.

And yet it was this same government that publically released the news of the wrongdoing by the FBI. Strange.
