Oh hush you..........sunbelt people. :stfu:

I went into an open parking lot for kicks, see if i could get the X sideways. Oh yea, I sure did..........and then regaining control was practically impossible. Then I hit the gas hard from a stop........minor wheelspin but it was all okay until you touch the steering wheel by a fraction. Then the car just goes sideways. <-------all-season tire limitation. This is why you buy winter tires, even if its just 3" of slush.

^^
and lemme guess...the DSC light was flashing like crazy saying "Omg! You're going to kill yourself! Let me flash this light at you!! AHhh!"

Pulling out of my driveway, I accidently clipped a rather large pile of snow, sending the right rear way up into the air. The X5 had a fit and cut the throttle, slammed on some of the brakes, and flashed several lights at me. It did prevent me from sliding into the oncoming lane, though. :D

Now 31 degress....:(

DSC was fully off when I tried to have fun. Of course, I turn it back on when I turn out of the parking lot.........I dont need to slam into a parked car or mailbox by accident.

DSC isn't intrusive at all in my X3. Sometimes the vehicle actually slips quite a bit before xDrive brings it back in line.....but the DSC light never comes on. The chassis and steering is ultra-communicative though.......that's why I love it. You know what the car is doing all the time...........unlike my Lexus. You realize you've understeered AFTER you feel the car jolt back in line.

I haven't really messed around in mine, but the all-seasons tires and snow/ice make the DSC go off quite a bit. Besides that, and the "rollover" the X5 thought I was having, It hasn't gone off. Maybe I should start pushing the car more this weekend, especially since the break-in period is over! Push and hold "DTC" right?

It's how brave you feel like. DTC allows for a fair amount of slip and steps in to prevent serious loss of control. Holding DTC will shut traction and stability both off, leaving you to xDrive, ABS, and your own talents.
