PS: Wagner - your chapter is WAY more active than ours in WV (sigh) |
I know, I'd like to get more involved with it if I could find some friggin time. Maybe if I didn't post here so much :dunno:
|
I would join if my local chapter was not filled with pompus A-holes
|
The first thing I did back in 1999
I've been a member now for a little over 7 years, and have enjoyed the discounts I've got when buying new BMW's (2) E46 M3's - (1) E39 M5 & my current E53 X5. I really would like to be more involved with club activities as well, but just don't have the time. Love the Roundel magazine every month:thumbup:
Cheers |
Ryan, I am a member but I never get any email. The only thing I get on a regular base is Roundel. I've been to one of the meeting at On the Border last year and the turn-out was decent, mostly older Gents though. Some members on e46fanatics have been really pushing younger fanatics to become members but I have yet to see enrollments or at least attendance pick up.
|
How do you find out if there is a local chapter in your area?
Wisconsin. |

I miss the Capital Chapter :( So much more activity than Sunbelt. Though the Sunbelt Chapter is growing and becoming more active, the majority of the stuff takes place in Tulsa and OKC :(
As far as involvement... I'm the northwest AR region VP of the Sunbelt Chapter :) |
Thanks for the heads up! Def something to think about.
|
I agree with Ryan, joining and particiapting in CCA events are a lot of fun. For our local chapter, they do a lot of racing/driving events and have gotten heavily involved in DIY. Hopefully I'll see some of you at the events.
Don't forget that one of the biggest reasons to join other than those already mentioned, is the fat check you get after buying new or CPO  For those that want to sign up, you can use the link and info in my signature below so I can get a reference (sorry for the plug). There's a membership drive going on, so I've been trying to get others to join. |
We've never gotten a chance to go to the BMW CCA sponsored events. Either no time, or too far, or X3s aren't allowed.. Maybe one day when I hopefully get a BMW, i'll do something to participate more actively.
|
I just joined!
:bmw: |
I got one of those fat checks.
|
Barry, So if I had joined Windy City BMW CCA before I bought the E70, what would I be saving, if MSRP was around 55?
|
Quote:
You get around $1000 for a new ride and $500 for a CPO. |
What was the join conditions for the check? I forgot.
Quote:
|
1yr with out membership interruption.
|
It's $500 for 3-series/Z4/X3. $1000 for the 5 and X5, and I think up to $1500 for the 7. Not sure what the 6 is. You have to have been a member for at least one full year without interruption. I don't believe service loaner cars are permitted since the odometer statement is required and they have regulations about it.
|
Here is the full listing of vehicle "pay offs" as a BMW CCA member:
New Vehicles: Z4 - $500.00 3 Series - $500.00 M3 - $500.00 5 Series - $1,000.00 6 Series - $1,000.00 M5 - $1,000.00 7 Series - $1,500.00 SAV's: X3 - $500.00 X5 - $1,000.00 CPO's: All - $500.00 Mini's aren't included. --- You may be eligible to receive an allowance based on the purchase or lease of a new or Certified Pre-Owned BMW through an authorized U.S. BMW center. * A membership of one year (365 days) or more immediately preceding the purchase date of the vehicle is required to take advantage of this program. * A member in good standing cannot have any lapse in membership during that 365-day period. |
OK, I joined. So how do I get the logo for my sig??
|
|
Thank You Mr Wagner!
Quote:
|
Kewl...we should have all the BMWCCA members have that in their sig along with their number
|
I'll be getting $500 back on my CPO X5. Between that and all the $$$$ I've saved on parts and service, the membership has returned about 1000% over what it cost me. Can't beat that with a stick.
|
WagnerX5 - Great thread and thanks for posting the logo.
I joined three months ago and love the Roundel magazine. |
Ok, I joined! That logo is driving me nuts... can't get it to show??
|
Membership rocks.

It should say IMG and /IMG inside [square brackets] around your link for the image to show up. |
Just noticed - you've got an extra "/" after your first IMG.

[QUOTE=rebound]I think you're using the "insert link" button instead of the "insert image" one.
Looks like this |
Do what?
|
Now you're missing a "/" in your last one.
Ain't HTML (or whatever it is) cool? |
:bump:
|
 A little slow this evening! Thanks Rebound.

Any of the locals for the DC chapter (National Capital Chapter) going to the social next week at On the Border in Rockville?
I have it on my calendar, so hopefully you guys can make it. Free food!!! |

One downer about having an X3 and being in BMW CCA is that I can't join the Driving Schools they the NCC Chapter hosts. I'd really wanna join their sessions out at Summit Point, but they do make a point about no SAVs. Damn........:(

Do I need my BMWCCA card or something?
|
Here's the link to the event on the NCC website. I don't think you need to bring anything, although having your member number might be good.
I went to the NCC board meeting last month and the main issue they have is getting people to particpate in the planned activities. They have plenty of funds to host all kinds of events, and since we're paying for them, we may as well show up. Like Matt said, some of their activities exclude SAVs, but many do not. From the folks that I've talked to, many have a beater that they use to track and sounds like a lot of fun. http://www.nccbmwcca.org/index.php?id=97,323,0,0,1,0 |

Just filled out my forms for both my BMWCCA plates for the X and 545. Luckily I talked to the MD rep and he told me I could have "0545" as the plate number for the 545 :)
|
Quote:
|
Did the forms come with your package from BMWCCA?
Quote:
|
No you have to request them if it is available in your state. Go to your local chapter page and look around. They send you MVA forms with their portions filled in. It costs $25.00 to get the plates in MD.
|
Thx, again!

They need signed by your chapter before hand, at least that is the case here. |
Quote:
|
Maybe in your chapter, not in Maryland. They send you signed documents and you fill in the rest then take them or mail them to the MVA. From there the MVA sends you the plates.

There's another NCC CCA event this Thursday:
http://www.nccbmwcca.org/index.php?id=97,1055,0,0,1,0 Who's going? |
Quote:
I'll be meeting a few from our chapter on Wednesday at BMW of Bel Air for the Ultimate Drive during transport to Tate BMW. |
I have some really cool guys in my Chapter (DelVal) but I would honestly join just to get the Roundel mag., its one of my favorite surprises every month when I see it in the mail. My whole family are Bimmerheads. I have been either an associate or full member since mid 80's and my father has been a loyal member since the mid 70's....for those of you who are not members Wagner is right there is no excuse not to join...I just have to find time to get to a US O'Fest one of these years.
