Sorry you had to learn the hard way,but yes fold them in always.:thumbup:

After hearing something similar to this happen to a friend, I fold in my bimmers mirrors (the little square button) everytime I park. I fold them even if I park in a parking lot with a few cars, just in case some dumbass hits it.
