The genesis of tech support.........
|
A friend of mine used to do tech support. Here's a funny joke he once fowarded to me:
Tech: Hi, how can I help you. Customer: My computer isn't working. Tech: What exactly is wrong with it? Customer: It's not working. Tech: What do you see? Customer: Nothing. Tech: Do you see an error message? Customer: No, it's just blank. Tech: Is the computer on? Customer: I don't know. Tech: Try turning it on. Customer: Nothing happens. Tech: Is it plugged in? Customer: I think so. Tech: Take a look and see if it's plugged in. Customer: I can't tell. Tech: Well, look behind it and see. Customer. I still can't tell. Tech: Why not? Customer: Because it's too dark back there. Tech: Why don't you turn on the light. Customer: I can't. The power is out. Tech: Do you still have the original box your computer came in? Customer: I think so. Tech: Here is what I want you to do....take your computer, put it back in the box, and send it back to us with a note that you are too stupid to use a computer. |

I actually had a user call my helpdesk back in the mid 90's complaining that he couldn't get on the internet on his laptop....... it took 10 minutes of troubleshooting to figure out the jackass was on a plane.
