Ouch, that sucks man. heal soon!

About a year ago, I was on my bike (on the sidewalk which nobody ever uses, and I don't have to worry about cars behind me) going about 25-26 mph, and it was about dusk, and not very light out, and I had my LED headlight on, and also my rear red light, and so I was going down small hill, when all of a sudden a white BMW 740iL races toward an intersection that I'm about to cross. It was going the wrong way on a one-way street, and they didn't have their lights on. So I hit both both brake handles as hard as I possibly could (I think I pulled a muscle in my arm) and I barely skidded to a halt just before it blew right through a stop sign and kept going. Didn't even try to stop. I ended up warping my front brake disc (I have disc brakes) from the heat created. Oh well. Stupid drivers. What an idiot.
xnsf: bicyclists have the same exact rights of drivers, so they have every right to act like cars, and they should, for safety's sake.

:iagree: In principal. But the real facts are bicyclists don't behave the way other drivers do and they expect others to ignore their bad behaviour. ;) In fact they ignore critical points found in the DMV more that any other drivers.

i was on broadway street in san francisco at first. there was a bicyclist in the lane. if they're on the side of the road cycling next to the parked cars, then fine...they have the right to be there...but not going 15 mph in a 35 mph zone in the fast lane

No, they still have that right. :nanana:  . But bicyclists should be the the far right lane, unless they need to make a left turn at an intersection.

1. People who drive slower the speed limit, especially when conditions are optimal.
2.5 Arbitrary speed limits :thebird:
2. Cops who hide and give speeding tickets rather than catch my creepy neighbor using my car for target practice :swear: ;pervert;
3. People who don't take care of their own fookin lawn. :thumbdown lazy asses. :loser:

You follow these? The only signs I pay attention to are the signs pertinent to my destination (like when I have to enter/exit a highway). I kind of just drive the speed I feel is appropriate given the setting, which is usually 5-10mph above the actual limit on local roads.

Meiac09 04-28-2007 09:33 PM

of course not, they are just a pet peeve.
but I'm usually 15-25 over because our local road nazis are stupid.
