American society has loosened up a lot in the last several years in terms of what's on TV, rated 'R' movies and is currently going through more significant issues like same sex marriage or domestic partners (which will eventually become legal - imo). I hear Americans say things like 'when will it stop' with these types of issues or even PC statements. So, if in India they are trying to stop 'it' before it goes any further - as tame as it may seem - I can understand some trying to hold onto their moral fiber before it get's out of hand.

Where does it stop? I don't know, but if they don't speak out now, then this is where it will start.

Agree, but the group leading this has political motivation and ambition. Nothing to do with culture. Some 20 years ago Prince Charles was in India and an actress kissed him. Nobody complained then. :tsk:

That being said, nupe did a good job of putting my thoughts on the subject into words. It's a cultural difference, nothing more. Nothing will come of these charges..bureaucracy will ensure that.

Last time I checked, India is democratic. These people are exercising their rights, and I'm glad they're able to whether I agree with their views or not.

What about the indian movies these days? I see totally opposite culture there. They are more like soft porn. I cannot watch an indian channel in front of my kid.
