I'm on the far right. I currently run the Personal Security for our Unit's Commander.

Thank you for the link. Reading something from a soldiers' perspective is alot different than reading the media perspective. It brings your sacrifices closer to home. Anyone who questions our troops needs to read this.

SSG Santiago, thanks for all you do for our country.

Sorry to hear about your 6x14 work schedule though... I hope you get plenty of R&R to spend with your family and work on your Bimmers!

SSgt -

I'm on recruiting now, but it's Marine recruiting, so I don't think my advice would apply directly (you guys do things a little differently than we do).

I will say this - if you want to get a specific geopraphic area for your assignment, my recommendation is to just take some leave, and go to that Battalion HQ, and talk to the SgtMaj there. Let them know you've already got orders, and that you want to work for them. Try to have a couple of "good" reasons why, but it shouldn't matter. HQ's are always looking for fresh meat - volunteers always help.

You know what they say about volunteering, right?

DR. I am glad I am not the only one who has similar opinions and can speak out.

Regardless of your stance on the war and foreign policy, bashing the job of our troops, no matter who you are, is disrespectful and uncalled for.

And blondy, you did not directly come out and talk shit but how would you feel if people constantly reminding you of "how no one wants to do what you do" and you guys are doing the wrong thing and bla bla bla bla bla.

On that note,
Blondy, remember those same great men and women protecting your liberty and freedom to be who you are and say what you think are those ones you may be criticizing.

BTW SGT and all the other men and women who are on this forum supporting our countrys freedom and liberty, THANK YOU very much for your everything you have done. There are many people who know the impact you guys have on our future, as well as out further generations to come.

I don't think many out there question the troops. I think they question the politicians who send them to war.
