That pic's INSANE...a.k.a. BADASS!!! I just LOVE watching lightning and thunderstorms. When I was young(er), I used to watch storms approach our house while still standing in the backyard. Obviously, my parents didn't know I was doing that!

WOW! Sweet pic!

Yeah, I used my Canon SD550, it has what they call a continuous mode. Which I tried, but the strikes were too irregular for that to prove useful.

Any idea what your f-stop was or lense setting?

Verbalkint 05-02-2007 10:08 AM

No, here is what I think happened. I didn't have enough time to set up my tripod, so I held the camera pointed towards the sky with my arms squeezed down to my side, and had the focus set and ready to snap. I think I moved slightly to the left and slightly down. So the result was a wider lightning bolt, and instead of the bolt showing in the background behind that house, it makes it look like the bolt struck in front of the house.

SG,
Wow!...amazing pic and it shows the enormous power
of that strike! Really OutFookinStanding Pic, imo!

But, ligntning is a phobia of mine, since early childhood, thus: http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...lies/hide2.gif

I like looking at pics; I don't like looking at, or being anywhere around,
the real deal.
