New Car Shopping...

Ok so It's that time again! New Car Time! My Lease is Up in 7 or so Months and I have NO Idea what I want, so I have narrowed it down, listed below

2008 Volvo C70 230hp Convertable
2007.5 VW Toureg V8 (pending test drive)
2008 BMW X5 3.5si (Pending Lease Rates because the current rates are WAY overpriced compared to what I Pay Now, their in RR Sport Territory!)
2008 Range Rover Sport HSE with Luxury/Heated Accessories Package (looking on lease Trader as I cannot afford the new new one)
2008 BMW 335i/535I (depends on lease rates but I refuse to pay over 600.00 a month for a 3 series!)

Input?

Basically, I LOVE LOVE the new X5, but if it's going to continue to be 300+ more expensive to lease a month then my current X5, I don't feel it's worth it and if the Toureg can do that for less money and a V8, I'm not sure what, the Porsche is out because of the expensive upkeep and the Q7 is horrifically ugly

Goodman 06-20-2007 03:17 PM

How about Lexus

noncom23 06-20-2007 03:22 PM

No 335xi?

AzX5 06-20-2007 03:22 PM

Get a Vulva!

It's not as luxurious, but it's MUCH safer, Better Looking, Cheaper and has a nicer hardtop

Go drive this. http://www.lexus.com/models/IS/?s_ocid=pdsrch

The IS is a nice car not as good as a BMW 335 but you wanted a cheaper car.

Goodman 06-20-2007 03:50 PM

How about a Mini?

Thunder22 06-20-2007 03:58 PM

My short list:

Audi S5
Cayenne S or no S

The C70 Hardtop Convertable is much larger then the IS and you can actually fit people in the 3's rear seat

Goodman 06-20-2007 04:25 PM

Sounds like you have Volvo in your future, not a bad car just be sure to lease it.

I would rather have a 335 coupe but not sure how much more it would cost?

blondboinsd 06-20-2007 04:27 PM

I'm not a big fan of coupes, Never liked them, always drove sedans, I can't stand the long windows

Goodman 06-20-2007 04:27 PM

Still think the Mini would be much more fun to drive and cheaper than the Volvo.

nupe10123 06-20-2007 04:34 PM

Why not just keep your current X?

And just remember, for the Volvo, there are 3,000+ mechanical parts just in that hardtop alone. There are some maintenance issues for ya.

Frankly I see you in a 3er. Or what about a one or two year old 5er? You are a Bimmer boi at heart.

And just because you wrecked your mom's doesnt mean you should hate all Lexus cars. :nanana:

BMW Drive
BMW free Maintenance
BMW Service

choices with a gun to my head... X5 or 335XI

Good Luck with your choice!

Goodman 06-20-2007 04:54 PM

A Mini is part BMW its fun to drive and low cost, the Volvo is a soccer moms car, and you called the Lexus boring?

I hear you about the indecisiveness...same here.....but its a lot of fun to test drive the various options .....especially when you are not in any immediate rush to buy/lease

A Paasat would also be worth thing about but it sound like the Convertible is more important than than the way it drives.

I'm confused. You don't want a coupe, but convertibles are usually based off of coupes, and you want a conv't.. And do you care more about the lease price, or what class of vehicle it is (I see you have SUVs and convertibles on the list).

get a e93 335 when the rates go down ;-)

I'm in your shoes, although my choices are different because of where I live and budget, I'm looking towards CPO E90 330xi or E53 4.4i ZSP, but the E92 328xi is on my radar, too, (335xi :zoom: maybe if I got a job at the dealer ;) ) and I'd love the cash or the climate for a E93 335i :zoom:. Good luck and take it from my personal experience and don't get the volvo. You'll never forgive yourself.

Quicksilver 06-20-2007 09:51 PM

Hey goodman. Have we seen the pictures of your X5? Why not post some pictures so we can see what you got.

The RR Sport does have the free maintainence for 3/36k and a 4/50 on the car as well

I'll need to check out the Volvo's reliability but I was quite impressed

I feel If i'm sacrificing with 2 doors, I want a convertable

Curious Joel 06-21-2007 01:05 AM

Do NOT get the Volvo. I hear it drives terribly. I've never driven a Volvo I liked, and my mom's '04 XC70 is one of the few cars I've driven that I really did NOT enjoy driving. I say go for a 335i or an Audi A5.

SANguru 06-21-2007 01:12 AM

FWD..heavy... slow..................... need I say more... and oh.. you fold it up. it's a coupe... I thought you said sedans..

Meiac09 06-21-2007 09:03 AM

I was actually talking about RR's reliability.
Volvo's however, has gone down the toilet since they started digging into the Ford parts bin :thumbdown

So keep in mind, that C70 is on the same platform (and has the same engine as a Euro RS) as a Ford Focus. It handles just like one (again, personal exp.) :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown :thumbdown

Quicksilver 06-21-2007 11:28 AM

Jus a thought: but it seems like in this post price is the over riding factor regarding your choice. Could it be you should consider other vehicles within you price range. When you figure that out then you may have a better idea of what you can get. ;)

I take pictures of people and scenery don't normally photograph cars or grills. Is this a car group or a photography group?

Quicksilver 06-21-2007 05:38 PM

This is X5world. and if you've noticed it's the expected behaviour around here to inquire about what kind of ride people have, and to request pictures. So where's the pictures of yours? Just include the scenery when you post the pictures of your ride.

It has to do with cars that fit into my general lease comftorable window, all those cars fit into the price I'm willing to pay for a lease on a new car

Goodman 06-22-2007 10:26 AM
