Has anyone switched over to Vonage and/or using Alarm.com? I'm considering the move, start up costs on Alarm.com a bit pricey, was wondering if anyone had the experience already?

yeah with Vonage... I ended up switching back.. we went through a couple days where AT&T here (digital cable) went out and was without phone service for the duration. Really sucked.. nothing really to do with Vonage per se but nevertheless, the reliability factor and also the fact that if you lose power and not have a UPS, you're screwed too..

i was going to use internet phone service, but ADT wanted a land line, plus I felt more secure that way. My alarm has a built in UPS too.

i do see the issue of internet going down....i guess cell phoens would come in handy then! i m still pondering about the switch but greg you're da man that rang the door bell first if i do the switch!

I have Vonage on the lines we use to call out. Our main home # is still Verizon tho. Saves me about $50 a month for the 2 Vonage lines. Quality is about cell phone good.

check out Lingo; has a wider coverage for $21 ... USA, CANADA and Western Europe. Have been using it since January.
