Anyone else having iPhone activation problems?

Annoying to say the least...

I did the whole activation through iTunes, and then got an email saying that my activation will take "additional time". It's now 4 hours later and I'm still waiting. Meanwhile, my old phone has been turned off, so I can no longer make calls from that one either. According to some of the forums, others are having similar problems as well. :banghead:

I hope this gets fixed soon, as I NEED to have a functional phone tomorrow morning.

Mine went without a hitch...

But maybe your suffering from this: http://www.appleinsider.com/articles...nd_iphone.html

You wouldn't have any problems if you went with the next best thing.

I can make calls, but I can't receive any yet. I set up 2 last night with no problems.... but still waiting. Everything else works like a charm! Great product.

If I had a landline phone, I would call AT&T, but I don't. So I am stuck to just keep waiting indefinately until it works.

It doesn't work. When I finished the activation process online, my old phone stopped working. It now says "no service". But the iPhone activation did not happen yet. So I am stuck in the middle with no phone to use. According to the forums, a lot of people have this problem, some on-going for 48 hours at this point. AT&T really messed up here and they are going to have to issue a lot of refunds. I saw one guy complaining online that he is a doctor and is on call this weekend, but nobody will be able to reach him because he has no functional cell phone.

Just got the final activation e-mail and everything is cool. (less than 24 hrs)
I hope you get yours soon.

Quoted from the Vicious Beating section of www.thephatphree.com

I've got nothing against Apple. I've owned several Macs over the years, and they are great computers. I even think the iPhone is a pretty sweet phone, all things considered. I just know that by next week I'll hate the iPhone more than AIDS because all the douche bags running around with them strapped to their $90 "vintage" belts will have forever contaminated them with the stink of attention-whoring desperation.

The same thing happened with Bluetooth earpieces. They are far more convenient than the wired variety, but you can't wear one without looking like tool. Every time I see some corporate soldier walking around with that blue LED flashing from the side of his head I want to rip the thing out of his ear and jam it down his fucking throat. You want to know why you've never seen anyone having anything resembling an intelligent conversation on a Bluetooth headset? It's because the only people who wear them in public are fucking morons. It's always some asshole in the liquor store holding up the fucking line while he tries to point out the bottle of ultra-premium vodka he wants without interrupting his conversation about how "sick" The Standard was on Tuesday. Just keep the headset at your desk or in your car where it belongs. You're not fooling anyone into thinking you're important.

Back to the iPhone people. Anyone who drops $500 on a first generation iPhone must be ridiculed. I suggest that if you see anyone pull out an iPhone between now and Christmas, ask them to check it out. Play with it for a minute. Let them talk about how cool it is. Then give it back and say, "You're still really boring."

As a side note I never knew you could have Socialist and Hipster in one person...

True enough.

If having a blinking blue light on the side of your head were cool, people would be screwing Christmas lights into their ear...
