http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,289119,00.html But before you decide check this out http://www.wsbtv.com/news/13675836/detail.html    ATLANTA — The mother of a 19-month-old boy says she and her son were kicked off a plane after she refused a stewardess' request to medicate her son to keep him from talking. Kate Penland, who lives in Gwinnett County in suburban Atlanta, said she and her son, Garren, had boarded the Continental Express plane last month after an 11-hour delay in Houston on an Atlanta-Oklahoma flight. Garren kept saying, "Bye bye, plane," Penland recalled. And she said the stewardess objected. "At the end of her speech, she leaned over the gentleman beside me and said, 'It's not funny anymore. You need to shut your baby up,"' Penland told WSB-TV in Atlanta. When Penland asked the woman if she was kidding, she said the stewardess replied, "You know, it's called baby Benadryl." "And I said, 'Well, I'm not going to drug my child so you have a pleasant flight,"' Penland told the TV station. Penland said other passengers began speaking up on her behalf, and the flight attendant announced they were turning around and that Penland and Garren were going to be taken off the plane. |
I heard about that! I'm not the one to ask, I can't stand kids on airplanes!
|
Good parents need to learn that just because they can tune out thier annoying little hellion the rest of the world still hears it!
|
yelling and crying kids are damn annoying. On the plane is where I catch up with most of my work and quiet time is important..

"A fellow passenger told WSB none of the other passengers had problems with Garren (the child) and that Penland (the mother) never threatened the flight attendant."
That pretty well sums it up. If the other passengers didn't have a problem with the kid then the flight attendant overreacted. She should be fired. |
Kids are kids, they will talk. Good and experienced flight attendants know how to handle kids and will always bring something e.g. cards, momentos, etc. to distract the kids. I agree some parents do not ask kids to be quite or not kick the seat in front.
Continental express, American eagle, United express, Ted have the lowest paid rookie flight attendants. I have personally experienced the rude behavior of a rookie flight attendants when she asked the passengers to sit down and shut up. She did not knew that there could be people with connectins in the plane and she lost the job next week. |

"Good parents" know the difference between a kid talking, and a "little hellion." I suspect you and the stewardess in question share some personality traits - like intolerance. |
