Yeah, I've received about 10 emails today about this...just F-in stupid and insane.

The dems want it and Bush has said he will veto it.

I can only surmise that the reason they are targeting cigars is as a payback for the abuse imposed upon one fateful White House cigar that was used in a manner inconsistent with the purpose of a cigar. Next they'll tax blue dresses. :tsk:

Actually it targets all tobacco, but that doesn't stop it from being a Boston Tea Party in the making.

I've already contacted both my Senators about it.

I don't care what you think about tobacco, this insane increase in taxation should make anyone shudder.

That does seem a bit excessive, I would rather see a total public smoking ban, similiar to what we have here in CA

Florida's already very restrictive about public smoking. I forget when they voted it in - I think last year.
