Had you planned your trip for next week or so, I would have recommended the Lobster Fest in Rockland. If you happen to be an afficionado of the aforementioned shellfish, you would have a WONDERFUL opportunity to savor it in a variety of ways, and enjoy the annual activities. Check out http://www.mainelobsterfestival.com/ for more details. My family and I went in 2001 and had a GREAT time !

That sounds great, and I do love the cuisine of the shellfish variety! Next week is a bit too soon though. I'm still working on my dates. I just received my Brochure from the tourist information in Maine, which is great and the more I read it, the more places I would like to visit. But I'm going to try and stick to what we planned to set out and see first. If all goes well I may consider purchasing a holiday cottage there.
