Just a knock on luxury cars I guess :dunno:

Lets see, everyone lives, and the car costs a ton to fix. Is this a shock? They act as though since it is expensive, it's not worth it..... :confused:

So you have a lil bit of money buying a more value-oriented Infiniti or Acura. And then when someone bumps into you at the shopping mall, that advantage goes right out the window! :nanana:

Glad to see the 3-series was in the top half; surprising because BMW has this wierd reputation of having expensive parts. Yeah, right...like other luxury marques don't have expensive parts either.

It would have been very gratifying for me to smash the rear end of the 3-series though. The rear design looks like it was already smashed into a brick wall to begin with.

Mercedes contends, because its bumper is designed to minimize injuries to pedestrians struck by the car? What's it made of jello???

It was a new initive at MB like a year or two ago...the bumpers and impact points of the car are below an average person's knee so you dont break thier legs if you hit someone with your car...they were also working on an airbag system that popped up the back of the hood and provided cushoning for the person getting hit when they landed on your hood

Oh F that.... if someone gets hit by a car, I want to see limbs flailing every which way but the right way.... none of this impact below the knees or airbag on the hood :rolleyes:

Europe has pedestrain safety standards that are going into effect. It's the same reason the new Mini has such a high beltline and a space between the raised hood and the engine.

Has anyone bumper tested a Prius? There is no bumper on that appliance.
