iMac Differences

By any chance did you buy the 17 inch vice 20 or 24 inch version? Of course there are occasional lemons about with any purchase of Mac equipment. But my Mac colleagues who have the (24 inch) model seemed to have experienced no problem whatsoever. Yet my sister-in-law with the 17 inch model has had several.

Good luck in your dealings with the Store or Customer Service. Every once in awhile, you actually do get an upgraded replacement.

17 inchers have major power related overheating issues

Have a 20" iMac. Spoke with customer service, they told me to take it in one more time and after that they will refund me.

So dumb.

Actually it seems that they are working to solve the problem. So be positive and hope for your sake that you do get a refund. Then you can get a better machine that will cost less money. What could be wrong with that?

Well I'm still trying to figure out exactly why the Apple Genius Bar doesn't bother to test any repair. I had a nice talk with Customer Service about that.

My guess is it depends on the history of your machine and weather they figure anyone has the expertise to handle your problem at your store. I believe Apple Genius's in some stores may not have the qualified personal to handle some issues

In 2 months they have replaced the logic board twice and all the ram. Let's see the cost of the repairs (on warranty) was $1,400.00!!

Quicksilver 08-08-2007 04:51 PM

Cost to you? the price of fuel and your time otherwise -0- ???

Customer service actually stated the rhetorical question "we're spending how much to fix this?" Well the nearest apple genius bar is 50 miles away...so 100 back and forth.

Quicksilver 08-08-2007 04:57 PM

Did they give you a choice of shipping it?
