Airport Security Checkpoint of the Future
 

GE Security's "Checkpoint of the Future" Lab, set up in San Francisco's International airport until January 2007, shows a system with multiple integrated sensing technologies—biometric identification; explosive trace detection on passengers, shoes and carry-on luggage; and more. Some of the technologies are now in use in U.S. airports and promise faster journey times, improved security, and the ability to keep your shoes and coats on.

Here's "check-in security" at our local Asheville, NC airport, :rofl: :

I spent about 20 mins at security at Long Beach Airport yesterday. There was no line at all. :damn: It was at most 5-6 mins at O'Hare. (ps. go thru the first class line, they don't check!)

I zipped through jfk and sfo in the last 10 days, no problems....

You mean soon I wouldn't have to remove my flip flops for TSA to check for a bomb? :tsk:

I went through the explosives detection thing in Tampa a few months back. A TSA guy saw me looking at it and asked me if I wanted to try it. They really weren't sending anyone through it. I guess I looked curious. I had no idea what it was.

Breezed right through security at Newark Sunday.

At the CN tower in Toronto Ontario, they have a thing you stand in that blasts air at you. It's fun.
