That is how the music industry has always been. Copyrights are like fine wine....they appreciate in value as they get older. My company's highest earning copyrights are stuff from the 1930s and 1940s.

You better hang on to those Vanilla Ice copyrights. They might be worth something in another 70-80 years from now...

You never know. I have seen stranger things happen in the music business. My company has been in business since 1931, and I've had titles which were dormant for 40 years suddenly come to life and start earning quite a bit of money.
