Nails in tires
 

Man I must have run through a construction site the other day without realizing...rear driver side big boy had 2 nails and a screw in the sidewall and front driver side had a screw in it. What an expensive day of travel. The front was able to be plugged but the rear had to be replaced because the screw in the sidewall...Anyone have any experience with TireRack's road hazard warranty?? The next time I spend $1,300 on tires I think it would be a good idea to get the road hazard coverage.

What a coincidence. I ran a flat on my front tire yesterday while biking (at around the same time as your post too!). :banghead:Pissed me off since I was too far from home to walk it back without damaging something. I really wish they'd invent run-flat bike tires.

I can't imagine going on a ride without a spare tube, patch kit, lightweight plastic tire irons, and a pump. Oh, and a credit card for a taxi in case it is more than a tire. What would you do if you were any distance from home?

Ive been doing renovations on a building since january and I must get a damn nail every month.
I had to change my tire at 2am after work 2 months ago.
Then 3 weeks later my tire monitor light came on so i thought there was something wrong with the light. So I reset it and a day later it comes on again. I check the tire and sure enough I had a slow leak with a nail. It was in the center so they patched it. then a few days ago the light comes on again. I check the tires and its the same tire different spot I couldnt friggin believe it. I havent even had time to plug or change it yet so I just full it up once a day. I gotta get it plugged moday.

After all that I wish I had gotten the road hazzard warranty from tire rack. Im pretty sure they just change the tire for free up until a certain point then they pro rate it based on wear. I definately think its worth. Especially as you said a set of these suckers are 1300 a pop.

Well, it wasn't that far away from home, and I wasn't doing any trail riding. It was just around the various developments and it theoretically was walking distance. However, after walking about a mile, I realized that a completely flat inner tube wasn't going to be good. I do carry my wallet and cell with me at all times.

It's annoying how I can jump rocks and logs while mountain biking and never damage the bike, but riding around town is what kills the tires. I dunno what exactly punctured it, but it probably happened as I was biking on the street in front of a car wash...........:confused:

Well Friday I had the new Yoko mounted and balanced and had the front plugged seems ok so far...I'll keep you posted.
