Full House Water Purifiers - Any Experience With One?
I'm a bit tired of drinking water that is sucked out of the Missouri river. Anyone have a water purification system that's installed where your water comes in your house? I would like all water usage to be purified.

CG,
We use an older version of this, in tandem, in line: first filter is a sediment filter, 2nd is a charcoal filter. We have to change the filters a few times per year. Our mtn joint gets its water from a community well; it's "treated" and very good, but sediment on occasion is the prob. This set up is not for really crummy water. A search brings up systems from small undersink cheapos to serious azz big units. GL,mD http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/...cStoreNum=8125 |
Back outta boston, we used a well (lots of clat, etc...), and we treated it with a water softener (full of salt) system and some blue tube to filter it. Water was great, although the pressure was reduced a bit. Same thing up at camp, but that 200ft well full of lake water doesn't need softening, but we just use a simple can filter up there for the kitchen and bathroom sinks.
Our city water in Maine comes from Sebago lake and needs nothing. what a treat! (That being said, the water that goes through the purifier on the fridge is horrible!) |
The one I have looks same as what MD has but its white color and is GE Smartwater. Its installed right after water softener, I believe. Had to install the shut-off valves on both ends of filter, for filter change purposes. Not the best design, but does the job.
