Best Buy sucks
 

Today I went to BestBuy to look at 1080p HD TVs. I saw a nice 56 DLP Samsung which looked good in the shop and the price was right too. I bought the TV and a guy from BestBuy helped me to put it into the X5. Once at home I tested it right away and found the picture and brightness to be pretty poor. I was very disappointed so I brought it back in the afternoon. A tech guy tested the TV and he acknowledged that the picture was poor but he then told me that they could not take it back because it was supposed to be kept upright when moved in the car and it was not. I tried to explain that when I bought it the guy from Best buy put it in my trunk not me. I then asked for a manager but the manager said the same thing. I told them that I would not leave this shop until my TV was reimbursed. After 1h of negotiation they said they would accept to refund my money if I bought another TV from there which I did. I went for a smaller but more expensive 50 plasma Panasonic and this one blows the Samsung away.

the 50 inch plasma is the one they had advertised on the front page of their ad? i think i got an email saying they messed up on the price too. les cons a best buy!!!!

What I don't like is my Samsung BR player, which is why I just bought a Sony to replace it.

+1,000,000 on hating best buy. I also got an email saying about the mistake.
Yesterday I went in and it was a huge hassle trying to return a camera I bought...they make you the enemy.

That is crazy, I've never had an issue with them! Well Good job that you got what you wanted, I just hate having to argue for so long to get what I originally wanted!

BUT, you got a better panel in the Panny, the 50" is amazing. did you get the current model with the anti-reflective face glass?

Yes, it says built in August 2007 and it is indeed an amazing TV. It replaces a Sony 36 Wega HD I bought in 2001. This Sony TV had and still has a very good picture but the picture of the Panasonic is just breath taking.

I would never shop at best buy.
They can burn in hell.

I've read so many horror stories.

I would have bought the Panny in the first place. I hate Samsucks.

What model did you get? The TH-50PZ700U by any chance?
