Slick things about Leopard...(Mac thread)

- Spaces: awesome, allows you to have 4 'virtual' desktops. You can clip different parts of a page to a quadrant. This is great if you actually use your system for work.

- Dashboard: you can now cut and paste parts of sites you want to have available. <<X5World>> :)

.....keep em coming if you have more...

quick look, coverflow in finder, iChat backgrounds (and screen share), new photobooth with video capability, stacks, dock reflection, it goes on and on and on.....!

I believe you can have more than 4 spaces - thought I saw it in the demo video (btw - if you didn't see it, you should - it's very well done IMO - check out Apple's web site), and my 13yr old daughter loves spaces too - even though she doesn't use it for "work" - she does use it for school work, (more than I thought she would - happy dad :domn: ). She keeps it simple but effective (thus learning the basic intent) by using one space for email, one for Safari, one for..., uh, I forget (but you get the pont), and she keeps one blank. She (& I) also love the way the files fan out like on the iphone - I think once we get used to it we'll find it much better than the current windows-like system.

She doesn't have a camera, but the backgrounds for ichat look pretty cool too - the problem is all her friends need the hardware too for that to be fun. Overall we're impressed, but I have to admit, I'm more impressed with the now-2yr-old G4 I bought her - what an impressive little machine - wow. I'm thinking of getting my son a Mac for Xmas now...

I just spent the last 10 months learning Tiger (new to Macs) and love it. So... how much more of learning curve is this going to be? I want to upgrade, but don't feel like doing it all over again.

You can have up to 16 spaces ;)

Learning curve is extremely shallow ;)
