Great so when I get up to go to work it will be dark, and it will be dusk when I come home....fun.

Thunder22 11-03-2007 09:54 AM

once again this is wreaking havoc with the technical infrastructure at my company... the ridiculous part is that the new law says that this just a test this year, they might revert back to the original spring forward fall back days next year... which to most is not a big deal, but to someone in my profession it effing sucks. We have to check over 2000 servers tomorrow morning BLAH!

Also up an hour earlier....

AzNMpower32 11-03-2007 01:44 PM

Darn, this means I'll be going to dinner when its dark outside. I hate how it gets dark at 5 in the winter.

You have a job, Wags? :dunno:
I thought you were independently wealthy (sans the house cars) and just sat home posting all day :nanana: .

yup... but add in 300 network devices, phone switches, BT Turrets, security systems, etc etc and it's a pain in the butt.

I remember we had to do that switch once on a tour of Nova Scotia! I was like "woah we're so far east!!!! We have to turn ahead instead of backward!"

The biggest problem is that in places like eastport, its full bright at 4 AM!

That reminds me of Hokkaido in Japan. That place is so far north and east in their time zone, it was like full light at 5AM and got dark at 430pm, even in the summer!

Have to tell you this happened to me this past week.

All the clocks at work were automatically changed last week, so when I went in to work on Monday, I noticed it right away. I had a speaking engagement at 11am about 15 miles away. So I told myself that I need to leave the office at 10:15 to give myself a little time in case there are traffic jams etc.

So I left the office at 10:15, thinking to myself that I sure got lots of things done this morning. I am so damn efficient today. I looked at my watch and it was 11:15! Already 15 minutes late to some place that was 25 minutes away!

I was so embarrassed when I showed up, had to apologize and apologize. I made the best out of it though and used it as an example in my talk :)

AzX5 11-04-2007 03:42 PM

We don't worry about such nonsense here in the great state of Arizona. ;)

Yeah, tell me about it. Last year I was flying home from Westfest and had to change planes in Phoenix. No one told me AZ doesn't change. I almost missed my flight.

Wagner 11-04-2007 03:56 PM

AZ is just trying to be different
