I went from 15" PB to 13" MB for that reason exactly, I was sick of lugging around a huge laptop to class. I'll probably even keep the MB for classes when i get a MBP sometime next year (mostly video).

I'd worry about fragility, esp the screen.

:iagree: It won't replace my 12" PB yet. I worry I will crack that potato chip..

Not to worry, not fragile at all. Pictures later

Barry, would you replace an old 12"PB with it? I like the look, but worry about it not being as durable as my aluminum PB. Thanks!

Quicksilver 01-15-2008 11:18 PM

If it met my needs yes.

It's quite a piece of gear for the traveler, and i believe it to be durable. Me?? I need a much more high powered laptop going and coming.

Folks were tossing it from person to person closing and opening it over and over again and as light as it is, it seemed up to the abuse it was getting. It weighs only 3 pounds and that in and of itself make it easy to handle and less likely to be abused.

Compare it to an iPod nano... incredibly thin but also quite durable. Apple isn't one to make a low-quality product.

I wish it had a faster processor and there wasn't a $1300 DIFFERENCE between the two, but otherwise I'll be on the lookout...
