Now that is a specific question.

I am in Vancouver, used to live on Bowen for many years. We built all of our own docks/floats on Topper floats, with rocking, or tilt ramps. Great way to spend a summer.

All the commercial construction that I have seen locally violates your 'cheap' rule. Companies like BC Pile Driving, etc.

I would look for a small company in the Gulf Islands. I can't find the link to the one I saw the work of (I think he was on Gabriola), but you could look into Viable Marine on Saturna, or Island Marine on Saltspring.

Complete float kits are available from Enviro Float in Victoria, and you could always contact Topper.

Use all of the above at your own risk. My experience is all with amateur built (and they are all still standing).

And yet an answer was forthcoming here on X5world. Our members are the best and never cease to amaze me :thumbup:

Where on Vancouver Island are you? My brother has some contacts over there and has a friend who has a killer custom house over there with a dock, etc.
