haigha 02-24-2008 08:26 PM

Haigha - The March Hare's name as given by the white King in Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass:

`I see nobody on the road,' said Alice.

`I only wish I had such eyes,' the King remarked in a fretful tone. `To be able to see Nobody! And at the distance too! Why, it's as much as I can do to see real people, by this light!'

All this was lost on Alice, who was still looking intently along the road, shading her eyes with one hand. `I see somebody now!' she exclaimed at last. `But he's coming very slowly -- and what curious attitudes he goes into!'

(For the Messenger kept skipping up and down, and wriggling like an eel, as he came along, with his great hands spread out like fans on each side.)

`Not at all,' said the King. `He's an Anglo-Saxon Messenger -- and those are Anglo-Saxon attitudes. He only does them when he's happy. His name is Haigha.' (He pronounced it so as to rhyme with `mayor'.)

`I love my love with an H,' Alice couldn't help beginning, `because he is Happy. I hate him with an H, because he is Hideous. I fed him with -- with -- with Ham-sandwiches and Hay. His name is Haigha, and he lives --'

`He lives on the Hill,' the King remarked simply, without the least idea that he was joining in the game, while Alice was still hesitating for the name of a town beginning with H. `The other Messenger's called Hatta. I must have two, you know -- to come and go. One to come, and one to go.'

Asian M power. I hope the //M Power part makes sense. Because AzNMpower was taken already on AIM, the 32 is a tack on taken off the 3.2 litre S54 motor in the M3, which was and still remains the one car I wish to own.

Some people have said that I'm a little direct about my opinions.

Since the most direct (or shortest distance between two lines) is called a Beeline, I took the term and adapted it with a little personal style.

"Kaefer" is "bug" or "beetle" in German. (No, I'm not German, though I did live there for a few years.) It's an old AIM screen name I picked 'cause I thought it was uncommon. I've stuck with it now for many, many years.

I'm thinking about changing it to match my license plate -- "JUANTED." :) (My first name is Juan.)

Was trying to get a good (but short) eMail at Yahoo (WAY long ago) with the word chef. All the really good ones were taken. Just stabbed away and ended up with realchef.:dunno:
Shortly thereafter, I did lockdown the name on every server on the planet. :D (at the time anyway)
Oh.. I am a European trained Chef.
:mmm:

Not very clever, I know, but it fits. And all the cool names like "Michelle" were already taken...

Dave

The Great NorthWet you mean. Where is north of Seattle? I was born and raised in Edmonds, driven my white X5 back there a few times...go white cars in the rainy area!

As for my screen name...black on LIGHT gray E34 ///M5 being my first and still my favorite BMW ever.

I like it, I just hate change. First Thunder and now Juanted. For the love of God, please don't let mD change his screen name. I just won't be able to stand it.

It's like when Jeff went from UCrewX5 to El Jeffe. :tsk:

:iagree:

X Foomph 12-07-2009 11:57 PM

X Foomph is my version of incorrectly pronouncing "X5" in German. The german word for 5 (funf) is actually pronounced foonf.
It was a toss up at the start as I was very close to giving myself the tag 'Pistonbroke' (Pissed and broke [Pissed as in very drunk]) but obviously went with the other.

Paint color for the rocker panels on the early E36's. It means dark gray and I always thought it sounded cool. So there ya go...

Did killcrap even reply on this thread and mention how he came about his screen name?

Weasel 12-26-2009 11:52 PM

Don't think so... we could all just speculate...!

Viperfreak2 01-04-2010 11:51 AM

I bought three new Vipers...

No more, I get a new BMW every 4-6 months, so I don't need the snakes. I loved them, but hated the attention. Funny, I didn't think it would be worse than the Ferrari was.
