thanks for flagging this! :)

Yeah ...showed up on my computer looking like a kernel panic screen.
If you get it do not click on anything because it will install the App. Just quit Safari then Open Safari again and it will be gone.

As Macs get popular, you'll have the same problems as PC users have been facing in the past years....Thanks for the warning...

I'm confused, so this app just randomly showed up on your screen Barry? Without even installing the program? And is it actually a "virus" or "spyware" or does it just mislead you into buying the program?

It's a virus app that "protects" you from "viruses."

:lmao:

Thanks for posting, I'll be on the lookout.

:iagree: The jerks that create this stuff have no loyalties. If there's a big enough target, they'll go after it.

It showed up on the CEO's laptop while it was supposed to be asleep. She does have a habit of leaving programs running. But by all accounts it appears that it just mislead you into buying the program.

I suspect that we will be hearing about it more and more as time goes by. I would suggest everyone find out as much as possible about it as possible.

Imunizator does not appear to pose a direct threat to Mac OS X security, and it does not take advantage of any flaws or exploits in Mac OS X. Instead, it relies on scare tactics to trick users into giving up personal information buy getting you to buy the app then sharing your financial info.

So does anyone use any kind of AV software or spyware detection software on their Mac? I'm kind of ignorant despite having my MacBook for 6 months or so.

I don't use Safari on my Mac because I have heard that it is weak in term so security and it's slow. :dunno:

Quicksilver 04-09-2008 02:44 AM

On the first question. No
On the second statement
could you provide proof?

And no it's not slow to me

But give this a look see and decide yourself
