This is scary stuff. Cat 5, 160mph....there will be deaths, there will be catastrophic damage...

My thoughts and prayers are with all you guys down there...

Thanks. This is really going to be bad for so many. Since I am still putting my own world back together after Hurricane Ivan (nearly a year ago!), I am extremely empathetic. And also a bit concerned, since the very large Katrina is expected to send AT LEAST tropical storm force winds (maybe hurricane strength) to my part of the Gulf (at the AL-FL state line). We need to keep the folks in Louisiana and Mississippi in our prayers!

Man, now it is at sustained 175mph and gusts at 215. I hope people are heeding the evacuation and warnings and getting FAR out of its way.

This one looks bad... And, on a B-line for a city that is BELOW sea level. Not good... hope everyone just gets out of dodge.
