Miami Florida, 60% of the residents speak Spanish only requiring most of the non Hispanic population to learn Spanish to be able to work and live in the community.

Sadly the United States of America is not on this list costing us untold Millions and diluting our sovereignty.

I lived in Miami for 10 years and never did I feel as though I was alienated for speaking English.

Talk about salacious journalism. Miami is now and will always be, comfortable for non-Spanish speaking citizens.

Granted, certain areas of Miami might be very Spanish speaking, but certain areas of Beverly Hills, people only speak Farsi, certain areas of Orange County it's Vietnamese and certain areas of Los Angeles, you better be able to say, ko-mo-sa-me-da, if you want to fit in.

I have never had a problem with communicating in Miami via the english language.

I am 150% in agreement that English should be the official spoken language. Every document is published in English, Those who founded the country did so in english, the VAST MAJORITY of LEGAL citizens speak english as (one of) their primary languages. Anyone who whines, moans, pulls the race card, protests, or has any semblance of a problem about learning at it can look like this. Americans (Native Americans Excluded) came here from other countries. Some spoke french, others italian, others greek, others british english. All of us, at some point in our lineage, had to learn english. Nobody is asking anybody to forsake their native language. However, other than discriminating against every area of the country with any other languages used, there is absolutely no purpose to duplicating everything in Spanish and creating a whole lot of confustion with EVERYTHING. Until we all are some brown-orange color, have brown-orange hair and all speak a mush of everything in 10,000 years on Mars because we have destroyed the planed going to war (using a hell of a lot of oil) over oil.

:shutup:. Maybe if we dug a moat, the Spanish speaking immigrants would feel as though they were "crossing the pond," too and learn english. JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE.

Your list is wrong. English is not the official language of Canada, it is one of two official languages (at the Federal level, since you are listing countries). That is also true in Quebec.

Nothing wrong with being bilingual. I speak Spanish and some Japanese. I do have a problem with immigrants who seek citizenship and don't bother to learn English. Thus requiring the United States to print ALL official forms in dozens of languages.

If you are serious about being a productive American Citizen then do America a favor and learn English please.

If I ever decide to move to France and become a citizen (Fat Chance) I'd for damn sure going to learn French.

What if you were to move to Montreal? Would you learn French? I was there recently and it is not necessary to learn French. You can get by with just English fine.
And that's how it is here. You don't need to learn english here to get by. You can probably get by in your native language.
