No President acts alone (some say there is a government involved) when executing an action nevertheless he as our nation’s figurehead is responsible for any actions made under his term whether right or wrong. If our Soldiers questioned our leadership, what type of military would we have? Would any war have ever been fought if Soldiers challenged the politics of our Leaders?

As for my signature, it is all about the message not the messenger. At the end of the day, the message stands true and for someone like me who has faced the enemy in battle, who has felt the impact of his weapons, and who has lost comrades can’t even imagine why anyone would even care about the who instead of focusing on the what. The “what” is what allows us to move forward throughout our perilous journey.

Yes, it's a great message. If our current leaders thought so too, laws like the Patriot Act would never have even been proposed. I just found it unusual to see that kind of message being endorsed by someone who is very pro-military as it is a very leftist anti-authority type of message. But I guess I should not stereotype all those in the military as I'm sure there are conservatives and liberals alike.

I would have to agree, It doesnt feel like this war has been going on for 5yrs.. but with that said.. I have had the "pleasure" of spending vast amounts of time between the Tigris and Euphrates, 03-04 and 05-06.. and the amount of good and the level of progression that has been accomplished during my tours and inbetween my tours has been amazing.. for our military and the people of Iraq... I spent both my tours operating in about the same battle space, and the quality of life for the iraqi people had improved great lengths from when we initially arrived unitl we handed off control of that AO, and then when I returned 16 months later, i could hardly recongnize the area due to the vast improvement of the quality of life that developed in that short time.. Markets were open, people in the streets, festivals, Iraqi police were operating at an almost self functioning level.. (if you've been... you know what i mean:D)

As I know there are several ways to accomplish a common task, and it takes a huge effort from within and abroad.... And I would also agree that there are probably some better and quicker meathods to accomplish the issues we are dealing with in the middle east... but I do not get paid to make those decisions, It IS my duty to Serve and protect our great nation with the orders provided to me and to execute them within the law and to the best of my ability....

:iagree: This is so true. I wouldn't be here at X5world had it not been for the war. Not sure if that's the right answer but hey I am happy and so is the wife...YAY!

Maybe with some luck, in 5 more years they will have reached the point they were at in the 1980s.
