$6.00 gas....eww huge bad hurricane season....ouch.

Those are just a couple words you could pull from the write up. Every season, every single hurricane season since Katrina, these "scientists" have predicted horrific Hurricanes, in 2006 it didn't happen, in 2007 it didn't happen and now in 2008..once again..HUGE HURRICANE season. Just more non-sense to drive up trading values from the same group that complains about artificial price inflation :)

Meh, I'm not buying your theme, Wagner.

You're blaming the "liberal media" for not accurately reporting or are you blaming the scientists (again liberal?) who get it wrong?

Further, while it is not what I would call actual news, the premise of the article should not be too hard to accept or believe. Heck, $2 gas became $3 and eventually $4 after Katrina... is it so hard to believe that another one like that would bump it to $6 per gallon?

Finally, I really can't see how this is the "liberal media" concocting stuff to scare "the masses" for the sake of fun and profit.

The truth is, the masses are already scared plenty. They're scared of running out of money, a diving U.S. economy, wars over religion and oil, evil lying politicians (liberal & conservative both) and all the rest of the scary facts of life in the 21st century.

So give the liberal media a break. Americans are unlikely to even notice an article like that unless it contains some fearful predictions.

I guess you missed the whole point that the mass media attempts to "scare you" into accepting things. :)

I guarantee you you see this type of story on the cover of every news source in the next 2 weeks.

Goes hand in hand with the warnings every year:

Oh lord, gas prices go up this summer because of increased driving.
Oh lord, gas prices will go up this winter because it will be oddly cold.

Curious why all these great predictors didn't see all these earthquakes coming or how about the insane tornado season going on right now?

Seems kinda similar to the old "our enemies are everywhere" warnings you get from the DoD and Whitehouse, etc.

Everyone's got an agenda. Sometimes they are even correct.

So what else is new?
