One last thing I really appreciate about the Ace is that is can be used internationally. I occasionally travel out of the USA, and it is nice to be able to use your regular PDA/phone away from home.

BTW, Ace won't work in Japan since it lacks 3G.
I am stuck with Sprint Sero Plan for 14 more month, very cheap plan. My Mogul's talk button got sticky so I've contemplated on new Sprint phone for a replacement.
I also looked at Ace seriously, since it is very well priced international phone. First of all WM 6.0 is real POS, unless you are very good with and have plenty time to toy with the OS. i.e. adding Task Manager, etc.. WM 6.1 supposed to be whole lot better, but Sprint was very clear about upgrade policy. Deal breaker!! I don't like the cramped QWERTY keyboard. I prefer slide-out keyboard for texting, and I wouldn't dream of texting with i-Phone or even upcoming LG or Samsung Haptic except for emergency. I think I will give Samsung Instinct a try once it comes out. As long as I could get EEE PC for texting, etc. |

They have released the WinMob 6.1 upgrade for the Samsung Ace. I did the update a few days ago, and all went well. I am quite impressed with some of the enhancements. The new "text messaging" runs conversation threads, instead of isolated messages. Very nice. "Office Mobile" is added for free. No stability issues. Seems overall faster, too. Just remember, you will have to reinstall all third party programs and ringtones, and reset all your preferences.
