I caught some of it yesterday afternoon, after chasing the ball, (dreadfully), myself...

I realize it was the "1st round", but I'm hoping for a little more excitement today.

Maybe it's the hype & great expectations, maybe it's the summertime blues, maybe
it's my 7 yr old, getting tired, 57" Toshiba proj TV with low def, maybe it's jes' fookin me. :dunno:

On a more poz note, my knucklehead son was able to cop an 8:30 AM Tee Time at
Pine Hill for next Friday morning, during our summer trip to see DaKidz. I doubt I will break
a 100. I'm currently a struggling 14.2, VZ is a 20.9 going down, my Son plays maybe 6 times
a year; it'll be like the CaddyShackGang, :rofl: .

I agree, I hope Tiger picks it up. The guy is amazing to watch. I will be taking my 4 year old out for his first 18/9, most likely 3 holes on a "real" course Sunday morning.

The higher the score, the more fun you had.

should be an exciting weekend of golf with Tiger in the hunt. Phil really screwed up with his decision to not carry a driver, he cant even find the fairway with his 3W.

was some fookin unbelievable golf last night.

i was riveted to the TV last night. Tiger's back nine was complete drama and truly unbelievable. i fell out my chair on the chip in on 17 and those eagle putts were completely ridiculous.

Tiger is unreal... Simply unreal. 2 eagles on the back nine?!? The eagle on 18 had me shouting so loud I almost woke the neighbors!

I'm a Tiger fan, but was rooting for Rocco all day yesterday, until Tiger started his run on the 13th.

Though I know Rocco was hoping for a final pairing with Tiger, it worked out perfectly for him if you ask me. Not being with Tiger gives you a better chance of winning. Just like few years back when that guy from Australia, Michael something won the US open?

Prediction: Tiger wins and Rocco finishes second. Westwood will fall apart. Few people challenge Tiger on Sunday and keep up with him... the last person to do it was Dimarco at the Masters!!

That back 9 was truly inspirational. Throw in the fact that his was in serious pain on almost every big swing and you have a true champion. Most humans would use the pain as an excuse to fall behind. Tiger used the pain as a motivator and you could see it in his face.

Pretty special guy that Tiger. I had a chance to follow him and Phil Thursday and gonna do it again today. Torrey Pines south is proving to be a perfect venue for the open and I hope the USGA considers having it here again soon.

Tiger is smart too. He had some situations where he could have gone for the impossible shot yesterday. He didn't. He took his medicine with bogeys.

It will be interesting to see what happens on #1 today. He went 6-3-6 in his first three rounds. In the second round it was actually his tenth hole since he started on the back. He put together an amazing "back nine" with six threes and three fourst that day. That would be remarkable at a normal tournament but at a US Open, wow!


I like Rocco and Lee but I don't like their chances today unless Tiger's knee is a major issue.

BTTW, what is up with the site's editor and Firefox 3.0RC? Doesn't work well here.

I don't play golf nor normally follow it, but this is some pretty good weekend tv.

TheBoss was pulling for Rocco all weekend and, I have to admit,
I was sort of also...what a finish though. Tomorrow will be interesting
as Tiger has got to get "going" early and maybe lay off that 110%
swing. Rocco is a hoot and an "older" guy, so it's like a miracle story.

Gee...I don't even have to call in to "work" tomorrow and come up
with some bs excuse, so I can watch the playoff, lol!

An amazing game and those guys are absolutely remarkable.

That putt Tiger made on #18 was simply amazing. I don't like the poa anna greens because they don't putt true at the end of the day. If he had got one tiny bad hop to the right the putt would have lipped out.

I'd say Rocco's chances tomorrow are less than one in ten. At least he gave himself a chance though... great playing under pressure. I think he said the two-footer he left himself on #18 was the toughest putt of the day :p
