Darwin's theories can no longer work; survival of the fittest and evolution as a whole. Modern science has replaced natures capacity to evolve a species. Curing diseases that were meant to remove the weaker creatures, human involvement in "environmental" concerns and "save this or that animal". The ability of nature to clean house, is gone aside from simply just killing off masses of people. Humans do a fine job of slaughtering their own around the world, that is the new evolution :(
