The Chinese put on one amazing ceremony
Unbelivable..........
|
I watched some of it..that was no joke. :wow:
|
Wow is right! I'm not sure if it would be possible to top that performance EVER.
|
We have the Olympics in 2010 here in Vancouver. The budget the Chinese had for that show was exponentially greater than our budget for the opening ceremonies. There will be many comparisons made in 2010 to that show yesterday.
It was a great show, absolutely. It is just that it is hard to compete with the sort of investment they put into it, and it really shouldn't be a competition at all but rather a focus on the athletes and their achievements. |
2010????
isnt that the winter olympics? the one nobody watches? cos london has the 2012 olympics! and we're crying over £9 billion pounds, whilst the chinese spent over $45billion! |
anyone know if it's going to be replayed?
I'd like to watch it. |
I DVR'ed the Opening Ceremony, and was glad, because after the performances, I could only watch 30 mins of the parade of nations, afer that I fast forwarded to the US and China
I was in BC in 2006 and they were psyched for the 2010 Olympics. |

well we are next to have it in 2012, wonder what we will do.:dunno: Thought The Mains of Fintry Pipe Band were excellent  |
incredible for sure.

Firework display was amazing....i guess u you can save a lot of money when labor is 10 cents a day and the paint on everything is toxic.
That 2000 foot LED screen they rolled out was nice 2.... |
