all kidding aside, when did the "bmw wave" thing start? I honestly thought it was only a Corvette thing.

That doesnt exist down here all i get when i wave at other X5 owners is dirty looks and confused stares! It's a different story on my bike though all the crotchrockets wave at eachother but the guys on their cruisers ignore us as well!

I thought it was just a bike thing too. Rockets wave at each other, Harley owners wave at each other, Gold Wingers wave at everybody...Right MD? ;)

It's a PCar thing... Ask Kevin. He can tell you all about the PCar wave etiquette thing.... :D

The other day I was driving a U-Haul 24ft.
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a guy in the oncoming lane driving a 20 Ft. U-Haul.. I honked, blinked, waved.. I got no response. wtf.. Damn U-Haulers have no camaraderie... :tsk: :tsk: :tsk: |

Why would either one wave?
I understand the concept of a question of a hierarchy (!) but can't imagine that either driver in question would think they are 'above' the other. Both models in question are theoretically equal IMO.
I can't imagine any BMW car driver waving in my area, unless it was an early 2002 or 3.0 coupe. Waving meant acknowledging a common bond, and simply buying a car that they sell 1000s of can't forge that bond. I do understand waving, it was common when I rode bikes (not Harleys, they were above it all...), it was common with the Saab 99, and it was very common with the Morgan +4. |
