They also benefit from a lower overhead and have yet to expand as much as Toyota has to the US

With a growing family, we got an Odyssey (still have an X3). Of all mini-vans the Odyssey looks the coolest, IMO.

My brother has the same Van and it is a really nice car/truck.

Honda did not enter the big suv/truck market, which Toyota did.
Honda does not even offer a V8 in it Acura line, which has limited sales.

I think they are a smaller company and did not want to invest in the development costs not sure that it was as much smart decision as much as the fact that they had limited capital?

Looks like whatever they are doing is working... unlike the "Big 3"

but I recently commented to a friend (Benz fanatic) that it appeared that the new Honda models are getting to look more and more like BMW clones...
he said "didn't you know that inside every Honda owner is a would-be BMW owner if he had the money (or the credit)" seemed like a funny comment but I think he was serious!

Looks like it was a great move to keep their SUV/trucks/mini-vans car-based and with a V6 instead of V8. Allows them to quickly "capitalize on the switch in demand to cars because of the flexibility of its assembly plants. Sales of Honda’s crossovers, minivans and pickups have dropped this year along with the overall market."

The accord is a nice little vehicle... if i was strapped for cash or on a fixed income i would consider one

Replace that Honda with Infiniti or even Nissan. I don't really think Honda has a sporty image at all. More like well balanced vehicles for everyone at an affordable price.

My stepdad owns both an E53 X5 4.4i and a Honda Pilot.

He prefers to drive the Honda Pilot and we can't get him to stop talking about the thing: "Room for 7 passengers, better on gas, lots of storage, handles great, great pickup, etc. AND it's 1/2 the price of the X5, blah blah, blah."

I don't love the way they look but purely for utilitarian reasons, it is a great SUV.
