iphone, voicemail and bluetooth

I've had a hard time getting my iphone and my voice mail program to work well together.
I guess I could call my voice mail rather than going to the application on the iphone (visual voice mail).. But that is a work around.

Does anyone know why when I retrieve messages from voice mail it doesn't go through the car's stereo system?

Thanks.

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution but I can confirm that mine operates the same way. (2008 E70; iPhone 3G v2.1).

I tried a number of different things but visual voice-mail does not play through car's stereo. I guess other phones don't have this issue because they don't have visual voice-mail -- you have to call voice-mail number.

Is it suppose to work like that?? Maybe not.

I would call apple and ask if Visual voice mail is suppose to work with bluetooth.

All kinds of issues in the link posted by QS.

This is what I've found:
1. I can play back visual voice-mail through my Apple bluetooth headset
2. Playing back visual voice-mails through BMW's bluetooth connection does not work

So I think that either
1. BMW's bluetooth is the problem
2. Apple's bluetooth implementation is the problem and only works properly with some devices

So QS's suggestion about asking Apple the bluetooth question would require more specificity.

Yes. Mentioned that above. Have to do these sorts of upgrades as soon as they're available. :)
