California to ban texting while driving
And in other news, California bans poking yourself in the eye with a sharp object.
How many laws need to be passed in California to save Californians from hurting themselves due to lack of common sense? Absolutely incredible. http://www.kcra.com/news/17551235/detail.html |
You are right, that is something that people should just know not to do. Unfortunately though, there are a lot of people who do it anyway. Maybe after they get a few tickets they will stop.
It is just dumb that this has to be a law, but I am all for it. It should be illegal in every state, IMO. |
Yeah we see a lot of that here in Toronto as well... too bad Darwin's Laws don't work as quickly as legislation.

Reminds me of a few years ago when i was living in LA and they were trying to pass a law putting a $1 tax on cans of soda in school so that kids wouldn't drink soda.
hey, how about parents just teaching their kids to not drink soda? or, wow, here's a brainstorm, take teh soda machines out of the schools! incredible. |
i saw an accident while i was driving last week.. i texted the 911 operator..."are u busy?" .. she never hit me back..

LOL, I heard about this, like stated it won't stop people from doing it, It won't stop me from responding to emails on my Blackberry while on the road.
Their latest hands free law has blown up in their face, nobody cares. I have a handsfree but half the time I talk on my phone without it when I can't hear the person. It's kind of funny to look around and see how many people are on their phones, I swear it's more than before! Oh Well! LOL |
Passing laws that are unenforceable give the impression that laws are frivolous and not for everyone.
