It may have some street cred for younger buyers who would traditionally shop Honda, Acura, Subaru, etc.

I think the Cobalt has been doing pretty well in the Street Tuner class of Grand Am racing.

Don't understand why Clarkson hated the Vectra that much. It might be rubbish for European standards, but I think its fairly solid for American (read: lower) standards. I drove a Pontiac G6 based on that same platform once and thought it was a tight package for a family saloon.

Then again, 280 turbocharged bhp to the wrong wheels tends to be a recipe for disaster.

My friend got a G6 for a loaner once...
We burned the contisportpros in front of my house, with ESC on and a 4 speed slushomatic.
